In 2024, we are honored to launch the first model boat series product - Little Otter 1/18. The design concept of this product comes from our fond memories of summer evenings, imagining that we can control this cute little boat with our children, shuttle through the quiet lake or backyard pond, and enjoy the endless comfort. In order to let more people experience this joy, we decided to make this product an entry-level model boat suitable for all ages.

As the first product of the Boat series, the Little Otter 1/18 is easy to assemble, so that even enthusiasts who are new to model boats can easily get started. We carefully designed this product to make it not only ornamental, but also allow users to feel the fun of hands-on during the assembly process. In addition, the appearance of Little Otter 1/18 is cute and unique, making it a very suitable product for others as a gift.

If you purchase KIT+FULL SETS, you will get the entire model kit + the complete set of electronic equipment (except batteries, remote control and receiver) Next, I will show you the assembly process. Since the hull has been integrated, the number of wooden parts is relatively small. If you have already made our slow flyer kit, the assembly process of this boat will be very quick and easy.

Before installing the deck, I installed and debugged its electronic equipment in advance. The entire ship requires the following equipment:

Similar to our Slow flyer Kits, we have designed brackets for the servos and motors to easily integrate and mount the electronics.

After making sure the electronics are correct, we can move on to the final painting step. Decorate it as you like, and cartoon color matching is also an option. After sanding and polishing the surface of the parts, I sprayed gray primer in advance, and then sprayed with red (Mr. Color C-144), black (Mr. Color C002), and white (Mr. Color C001).

     When completed the main building structure, we began to install a series of detailed accessories, including windows, searchlights, horns and antennas. These accessories add to the beauty of the overall model. After completing the installation of these accessories, we proceeded to deal with the door of the building. According to our design, the door can be opened because we equipped it with 4 metal hinges. The door can be opened and closed smoothly. In addition, at the end of the deck of the building, we also set up an additional cover. The main function of this cover is to facilitate the inspection of the steering rocker arm. We can easily inspect and maintain it to ensure its normal operation during use.

Finally, we come to the exciting sailing part. In this part, I specially added some metal bolts as counterweights, weighing about 100 grams. This can make the sailing process more stable and avoid capsizing when turning. Of course, stability is a very important factor in the sailing process, especially when enjoying the fun of sailing, we need to ensure this.

It is worth noting that in order to ensure the safety and stability of the sailing, please try to operate in calm waters. In this way, not only can accidents caused by water fluctuations be avoided, but also the sailing process can be smoother. In addition, if there are children participating in the sailing process, then as a parent or guardian, you must do a good job of supervision to ensure their safety.

The addition of counterweights has greatly improved the stability of our sailing tools.
